Why are there 9/11 conspiracies over a decade later? Well, the reason they started in the first place, were for two reasons. The first is that following the events there was not much known. The 9/11 Commission didn't even conclude until 2004, so for those 3 years people wanted answers and they made do. Sure, there were some issues with how the Commission was conducted and a second Commission would be good. Would the second Commission ultimately change the established outcomes? No, I don't believe so.
The second reason, is because of what happened that day. The psychology of the American people at that time was such that this kind of enormous tragedy only happened in lands far away. That no matter what happened, not like it would ever happen in America. They had the greatest military, the greatest government - nothing was ever going to happen. So when it did happen, the whole American psyche was shattered beyond repair. Those one had been told would never fail failed, and this left a grave distrust for many.
So, for many in the conspiracy camp, it is easier for them to believe that the government and they authorities were in complete control that day - though they caused it all to happen. At the same time because they have been so let down by those who swore they would never fail, there is this resistance to listen and to accept the official findings. So these conspiracy theorists are really between a rock and a hard place. Add to this the fact that many prominent heads in the camp have lost their jobs and reputation over their convictions and well, that only makes it more difficult to come to terms with what really happened and admit that they were wrong.
What about the supposed evidence for the conspiracies? Well, critical analysis reveals that these so called evidences aren't really evidence at all. The question is though, is one ready to confront it? A 9/11 conspiracy theorist who wakes up from the conspiracy will be under intense psychological duress during this process. You could say it would be like going through the stages of grief only delayed by a decade, so keep this in mind when you try to wake them up. I realise it is easy to be angered at their apparent disregard for all those people that day, but keep all this in mind and be gentle with them.
The other element is that there are people drawn into this that are withdrawn from that day. For example, these aren't looking for answers in the shadow of 9/11, rather these come at it from the perspective that the governments of the world regularly do such things to their people. Perhaps creating some tragedy to get some sort of legislation passed. These people are, you could say, conditioned to the point that often anything tragic that gets media attention is what is called a false flag. Do false flags happen, sure, but not as often as some like to think. More often then not, tragedy just happens. Those that think they occur often though, have that same conviction that regular 9/11 conspiracy theories have - that everything is under control.
It is almost ironic that conspiracy theorists of this variety seem to have this almost childlike faith in the government - that the government was always in control and there was no real chaos. It does make sense though. If indeed there is control, then that means that ones has the opportunity to survive the next disaster if they would only pay attention to the signs. If you know enough you can avoid suffering, but if it simply chance or chaos, then your chance of survival is for the sake of this argument equal to anyone else, and that is very unsettling.
